how to make Fondant go hard?

I paid less than £8/12.5kg this year..... certainly not worth the hassle.

I suppose that this is another of those questions where it depends on how many hive you have.
Yep, if it tens of hives, then this make great sense.
If you've only a handful, then maybe not so. :)
I don't need 12.5kg of fondant even if it is only £8.
If you leave it harden, then you don't need to work it, so less hassle.
The bees take it if they need it all the same.
Or at least, we've not lost a hive where we've put it on as a precaution.
 
Just made some fondant....what a palaver! Will definitely buy some next year if they need it. Hope the bees like it. Unfortunately it's howling and lashing it down here today and tomorrow so will probably have to wait til Sunday.
