Say you took a sealed qc and brood into a nuc .. and left it to emerge ..

could you see fresh eggs 7 days later ?

(have created two nuc's and to increase and also try to practice queen finding skills in a smaller environment !)

Wow, what a helpful reply.
Think about it. When was the cell capped? 16 days from egg to emergence, mating flights, etc.
It generally takes a few weeks before you will see eggs.

well tbh .. I rather hastily did the two nuc's one of which had a queen cell and one of which just had eggs taken from the top of a brood box in a demarree which I thought was a rogue worker ... (discussed here

in my panic I didnt mark up the nucs so kind of forgot what is what ...

the answer (resounding no) helps me solves that so thanks for that

This is what I was told:

newly emerged queen needs a week to mature - 7 days

at least one day to mate - 1 day

two days of sperm storage and egg development - 2 days

so the earliest she will start to lay equals =10 days

if weather is poor may take up to 19 days
