Panic question here; I can sort of "age" larvae by eye, but now I need to know and Google is not doing it. I am giving a test frame and because I let HM lay drones, I have no eggs (she was as happy as the pig in the proverbial on drone comb). How big is a 3-day larva? Or, how old is a larva that is about 2mm long?

To get a decent queen produced the larvae should be nearly invisible, like a smidge of white in the bottom of the cell. If you can see larvae to identify any segments... far too advanced.

It took me 8 seconds to Google it "honey bee brood development stages" ;)
