Who has supers capped and ready for extraction? This weather has caused havoc with the colonies, I am even feeding one!

A bit early yet for us yet extracting, supers still stacked up @ home, osr just coming into flower. A cold easterly airflow [normal] for this time, but feeding not a normal state of affairs.
Hopefully brood rearing/build up will continue as normal.

Lots of bees, which will tear through the stores very quickly if they are not out foraging. We will need to feed soon if the weather does not sort out some sunshine!

My mentor told me that last year was the first in her 20 odd years of beekeeping that she got a spring crop. This year it has been a make honey eat honey season.

I have - but I'm leaving it in case they need it.

Last year I extracted on the 1st of May, so far this year my best has nectar in 4 frames the worst havnt even ventured into the super yet. Such a shame to see all the OSR in full flower and know that nothing is coming in. When will the temps get above this miserable 13° we have had for the last month?

I am feeding my buckfast F2s* and italiainxblack (F3s &F4s) large colonies as they appear to be at risk with little liquid stores *( but still trying to swarm)

However local black bees that were smaller coming out of winter, still have sufficient stores....are we over breeding for honey and casuing these problems ourselves
