I have a colleague at work who is heavily into the power of crystals ... she tells me that angular shapes with points are far more powerful than rounded shapes and soft corners. Perhaps the bees know something that we don't ?

So squares or triangles it's going to be ... photos in due course !

Thanks everyone .. Oh ... and my Long deep hive is pretty near a Tardis !!

Mercedes bonnet badge?

apparently they can tell the difference between a cross and a square,
but not between a square and a circle.

normally one uses masonry paint for poly hives.

i use sample pots of homebase own brand. can apply different colours to different faces of each component so all hives mix and match appearance.

My hives have a number on the front. Mind you I don't have odd one side of the street and even on t'other.
The bees seem to be able to recognise their own homes :)
