I found the following on the Devon and Somerset Fire Service website. It's a sad state of affairs if it does turn out to be deliberate.

'One appliance from Torquay was mobilised to a report of a fire involving beehives at the above address, with Crew Commander Atkins in charge.

Upon arrival crews found one beehive had been severely damaged by fire, but the fire was out on arrival. Crews inspected the beehive to ensure the fire was completely out. The cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.'

only if they were in a neat 3x3x1 ft square pit or maybe just a case of the beek being over eager to scorch his/her hives. :svengo:

Who digs the pit - Fera or the hive owner ? :boxing_smiley:

The Old Boy I bought one of my hives from once had a couple of hives on an allotment superficially burned by kids trying to light a fire under them.

I'm afraid it comes down to ignorance.

it's sad that someone would do such a thing if it was set alight deliberately.

on the other had this has just made me giggle like a little schoolboy :biggrinjester:

One appliance from Middlemoor station was mobilised to a report of a person stuck in a baby swing at the above address, with Watch Commander Vowden in charge.

Upon arrival crews found a female stuck in a swing, so used small tools to release her uninjured
.

and very embarrased I'd guess :smilielol5:
