I found the following on the Devon and Somerset Fire Service website. It's a sad state of affairs if it does turn out to be deliberate.
'One appliance from Torquay was mobilised to a report of a fire involving beehives at the above address, with Crew Commander Atkins in charge.
Upon arrival crews found one beehive had been severely damaged by fire, but the fire was out on arrival. Crews inspected the beehive to ensure the fire was completely out. The cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.'
