I collected a massive swarm on Tuesday - That's the good news.
Bad news is today they absonded.

I normally leave a swarm alone for a couple of days, but this one was really too big for the nuc I collected it in, so I put it into a full sized hive the next day. I should have put a QX on the bottom until I saw eggs. Ho hum.

Bad luck on loosing a big swarm, 5 frame nuc boxes I find a bit small for prime swarms so I made a 14 x 12 7 frame nuc box, should have been six but ended up 7

Been there... you can give them the best place in the world and they still go, had it with my first swarm I hived.
Good luck next time.

We lost a prime 3 weeks ago Clare from teh Magnolia...but they found a great home with a vv keen newbee a few houses away. They liked the wood National far better than the poly Lang. jumbo....
