Spotted this growing on the trunk of a dead tree at my apiary this afternoon any help in identifying please?

Its a sign of white rot and weakening of the tree stem so if it's a large tree best get someone to check it out / fell it if it'll cause problems.

From the initial postI think its probably past any tree treatment - "Spotted this growing on the trunk of a dead tree at my apiary" On the positive side if there's an open fire in the house itll come in useful next winter. 🤣
