There was a notice in the BBKA News about the South Devon Beekeepers Convention on Totnes on Saturday 17th October 2015.

I went onto the website to see who the speakers were and, to my delight, I found that DerekM of this parish will be one of the speakers. His subject is "Keeping Bees Warm – Increasing Productivity?" - couldn't be anything else really could it?

I might just shell out the £15 to hear Derek speak (hope he brings some celotex-hive drawings with him!). Other forum members might want to hear what he has to say too.

Heard Derek speak twice - He's worth going to see... Bit too far for me or I'd come down just for that ...

Heard Derek speak [...] - He's worth going to see... ...

:iagree:

People at my BKA still talk about what they heard that evening, and most are using some form of insulation now. Quite an achievement, when you think that most of them were matchstick men!

:music-smiley-026:OMG that took me back to my childhood.
