Removed the queen on Thursday am and went back a week on Sunday lunchtime (10 days) to harvest the queen cells. There were 2 queen cells which where still uncapped containing a nice size larvae and lots of jelly. I would guess they were a day or two from being capped.
Just shows you that these queen cells were probably made from the last eggs laid by the queen before I removed her so it will be 10+ days before they are capped rather than the usual 8-9 days.
Perhaps I should have left these 2 uncapped QC's on the frame and gone back 5 days later and harvested them? They might have proven to have been the best queens of the bunch!
