In previous years I thought I was safe here but whilst walking my dogs this morning I spotted 3 large fields turning yellow. I think that they would be max 2 miles from my hives.
So, what I want to know is can I tell whether my bees are working it? Or do I just assume they probably are. How soon do I need to think about extracting, and is there anything else I need to bear in mind when extracting it?

. Also round here they've only had a few days on it for me my bee's are not up to the numbers to take advantage but am getting foundation drawn from it. The weather is due to get colder here not sure what its like up north, think its a few degrees warmer have a check on accuweather.
