Hi
I have got a 14x12 poly nuc box with a mated queen and bees on 1 and a half frame (split), they are successfully raising some brood on 1 frame (some capped and some at all stages). They have got honey and plenty of pollen plus I'm feeding them. Just wondering what is best for them, leaving 2 or 3 frames and putting a dummy board, or leaving the 6 frames (already drawn). Or 3 frames, dummy board and 2 frames just to have them in the Nuc rather than home. All the frames are drawn and contain either honey, pollen or empty space.

I just put the full amount of frames in, bees in nucs explode this time of year, especially in a poly nuc

As said- poly nuc will be warm enough this timd of year withoutvthe need to dummy down. If your expecting to overwinter them as a nuc I would leave them alone as plenty of time to build up. If you're expecting to get them into a full size 14x12 then you will need more bees/brood.

Be careful that they don't fill laying space with syrup. I would leave them 3/4 frames drawn comb and check in a week if they are not growing quickly in 2 weeks, I would donate a shook frame of emerging brood to help them. If you plan to overwinter the nuc you may need to manage numbers before winter or move them into a hive if strong enough.
