Do swallows eat bees?

The blue tits take the drones off the landing board and eat them.

Robins at both of my apiaries catch and eat bees on the wing... they are not relaxed enough for me to tell whether they are only eating drones.
 
OK not for the low baller! Saw a wasp take a pollen laden bee off a flower last year, sting it and fly away with it held underneath. Oh for a camera at that very moment. I'd rather feed the birds!!

Back to the old chestnut, everything feeds of everything else in one way or another, when normal food gets short other sources are looked at, in many cases we have the overall control and must be very careful how we exercise it!
