A shear pump, which will grind down coarse crystals into fine and homogenize the honey.

Seen them on some bee supply websites in the EU, but cannot remember where at the moment.

Thanks. That's the right sort of idea. Swienty sell something called homogenizer/creamer but the spec. is vague. Has anyone got one?

I don't do loads of bottling set honey but pestle and mortar would not do it for the volume I need. I've made do with natural soft set before but you can't always rely on that.

What scale are you talking? I make small (90lb) batches of soft set using a strainaway vacuum filter, a plastic paddle will readily shear honey crystals through the stainless steel filter.

I'm looking at a 200kg run about 6 times a year max.

with regard to the honey, did you ever get a honey pump? i am certain that I have read on the web somewhere that if you can get the set honey warm enough to move, you can run it through a pump and just re-circulate it back to the tank, leaving it running the pump macerates the crystals, never tried it just something I have read
