After putting apiguard in the hive and feeding sugar water with hive alive we were having dead bees in the feeder. Advice was that we weren't fitting the feeder properly although we used it many times in June without any issues.
One comment online suggested that the Apigard contained thyme as did the hive alive and it may spur the bees to clear it out along with the Apigard, leading to drowning bees. So we cleaned it out and just used the sugar feed and thankfully no more casualties. A costly lesson but won't make that mistake again. Hope this was useful
