Everything Internet mounted has a TTD point, not necessarily set by the
creator. In all that work Dave did he never grasped that concept as like
many of that time, and even some still today, his focus was on "build it
and they will come" - putting aside or choosing to ignore the evolving
technicalities which would at sometime swamp the work.
Even the briefest of looks into WBJ.com will well display the losses of many
a barebones HTML site/page through not grasping the technology.
I cannot see how "Roger" could have put his view any clearer. A view
it reads as Dave endorsing.

Bill. As someone who is criticising other for their lack of technical prowess, perhaps you could stop putting line breaks in all your posts. Everyone else manages it.

... 'ere we go 'ere we go, again.
Nobody is criticising, merely respecting the choice(s) both builder and
maintainer made around archiving - go read post #13 and #17 for context.

Let me say you and your l0t(stereotype) are really scraping the bottom of
the barrell using post formatting as a weapon - when anyone with
half a clue knows full well todays text format engines do not even come
close to acommadating all forms of input, this site proving one of the least
efficient at it.
Some posts sync fine, others - yours included - n0t so fine.
I'll bet it's one reason those way way younger than I are not represented
here... this interface on a 'phone would drive one bonkers, fast!
Examples attached.

The site renders perfectly fine on my PC.

The site is formatted using HTML and CSS. This is interpreted by your browser, which is responsible for rendering and presentation on screen. If you are seeing an issue with the site rendering, it's likely a browser issue which you need to investigate.
