Had our inspections today all went very well and we have passed ok and are now on the scheme proper, i must say the inspectors Adrian and Debbie were very good and made the experience very enjoyable and i learned a bit as well, i hope Adrian`s back is ok after lifting some of our Brood boxes which were a bit high !! he was warned, there has been a lot of negative reports about bee inspectors lately but i can honestly say these two were great to work with very efficient, quick and a good laugh i can`t thank them enough, anyone else had theirs yet ?

We have signed up to the Scheme for the expected training day in October.

I hope it a cool day for your training day, i can still smell the stench of foul brood in my nostrils, it was a good day despite the smell, i am sure you will get a lot out of it as i did, good luck and i hope it goes well, Chris

Anyone else going down for the 9th?

I take it that is the date for your first stage test day Bates ? can i wish you good luck with it, funny enough we had an email from ALEX today stating we will be receiving our DASH certificates at our BF meeting on the 14th October, I had forgotten all about them. Chris

Yeah the 9th is the first stage, already started my revision! Like being at school again.

Something to pin up? I should be attending the 14th as Ross is not too far from me. Never been before so should be interesting.

Sorry, I meant the 12th. I realise you will be at the Stockbridge one.

Well it was a lot harder than I expected although it seemed the general consensus. The pictures a lot said weren't the best, some were quite deceiving and then the actual frames - some of which had really seen better days. I think we may have some failing...

I know what you mean Bates, the frames we had were a bit passed it, and lets face it when the larva have been died for a while they all look like EFB anyway, it is a lot easier to spot when in the hive, i dont expect many people will achieve 100%, i expect you will be ok, we are picking up our certificates next week at our BFA meeting. Chris

With that being said both I and my colleague passed :). Now till the spring!

In a post from Alex it states that everyone that entered had passed in the last batch, wow 100% not bad indeed, so well done to everybody in successfully getting over the first hurdle, Chris

Resurrecting an old thread... Anyone know roughly what it costs to get DASH accreditation?
it doesn't, apart from your time, a 100% 'benchmarking' inspection with an SBI (maybe two years of inspections) and a trip to Sand Hutton - only open to BFA members, the great unwashed can't join.
