Hi Tina
If you're still able to, I'd be grateful of a picture of your grandfather for a book I'm writing on the history of beekeeping which includes mention of the Morris board
Thanks

Andrew, the original post was 2011. It appears that the author of it hasn't been seen since then. Maybe they provided a contact email and one of the forum moderators could try to ask if they can put you in touch?

There will be an email...but it was 12 years ago

I still use the same email address that I created 20 years ago. I only suggested to try as she seemed keen to learn more about her grandfather and maybe being involved in a chapter or even just an article about him in a book would be a nice thing. If you think its not possible then so be it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I’m happy to send them a message. Let’s see where it gets us.

Good Morning, hope everyone is enjoying the festive period.
It has been quite a while since I have logged onto this forum, work and life just got in the way, I guess.
While scrolling through some photos on my phone yesterday I came across an article about the Morris Board that my Grandad is credited with inventing!
And last night I found this forum again. :giggle:
I am (early) retired  now and so have a little more time. I have also updated my account details.
Andrew Gibb - I know your post was last year but I would still like to know if you did finish your book

Roger does not frequent this forum but can be found on another:

Britishbee.og.uk/forum/index.php but remember the www.

If I get chucked off this forum for mentioning the other I'll blame you :)

Oh the bad old days 😂😂
We don’t do that any more.

Hi
Just chatting to my Dad and he was talking about his cousin who was a bee keeper at Toulston so out of interest googled his name and saw that you were looking for info about your Grandad. I couldn't give info about the Bee keeping side of things but he told me that your grandad had several brothers and sisters where the name Fred was predominate, your grandad had a sister called Freda and he thinks your grandads Middle name was Fred named after his father. My dads dad (or my great grandfather)and your great grandmother were brother and sister, that's if I've got the generations right. Funny old world???
Hi Cazwilo
My apologies for not checking the forum over the last few years  hopefully you will get to see this post
you are correct about Grandads name and that of his sister he had quite a few siblings, I am just doing some work on our family tree so would love to hear more about any family connections 🙂
