Hi
A week ago I installed a small colony of bees into a P*!%^s Polly hive. Placed a wooden crown board on top and have been feeding the bees 1:1 syrup over the week. I've been using a P*&^%s super as an eke along with the transparent crown board that came with the hive above that then the roof.
My concern is that the correx board for recording mite drop is in place and when I pulled it out it was covered with water. I know its wet and windy so could be blowing in onto the board. It's completely dry inside the eke where the feeder is and all seems well with plenty of bees flying when dry. Should I be removing the correx board?

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Yes take it away.
It won't be recording anything with rain sloshing over it.
Try again when it settles down toward the end of the month.

Yes, board only needs to be there for 24 hrs to give a picture of hive behaviour and health (varroa infestation)..If some varroa drop, clean the board and reintroduce for further 24 hrs to help the estimate.

Think weather going to be MUCH improved by May 18th..

Thanks to all. Board removed to give better air circulation etc. No mite drop at all. After several days. Didn't leave it in for that reason though.
4 pint rapid feeder on with 1:1 syrup. I patiently waited 10 months for these bees so want to do everything right. Enjoying every aspect of beekeeping. Will definitely consider doing modules in the future.
