Steel mesh ones.... boil in 3% lye and then jet wash clean.
Net ones... made of plastic... probably disposable?

Ive never had an issue with good old hot soapy water. Am i missing something?

That is how to clean used frames.

Wash the sieve with warm water. Dry up in open air.
With hot water wax will melt and will be glued into sieve. Same with extractor.

Why soap there? It is honey what you must get off from sieve. Soap dilutes fat. And actually you must get off the small wax pieces and sugar granules.

I use an old hair dryer to blow away the wax and honey then clean with warm water.
