Chinese nicot systems

Has anyone purchased one of these imported NICOT systems from China off flea bay?

If so how did you find them as they are a fraction of the price compared with a UK version.

Would like to know as I'm thinking of getting one for this year

I only use the original French ones (http://www.nicotplast.fr/apianglais/queenbreeding/queen-breeding-material.htm) but, I've heard, they're not compatible.

I have both and they are not compatible, on saying that the Chinese one works just have to make sure you keep parts separate.

I've recently purchased more Genuine Nicot parts but was looking at the Chinese copies simply because they looked the same and were so much cheaper, had I not already got the genuine kit I would have probably gone for the copy ones, that said the other thing that put me off was that on many of the ebay listings it says allow for 2-3mm tolerance on the sizes quoted...

3mm is a massive difference!

I use original jenter kit. I wax insert cells, so if of lower quality of plastics I believe the insert cells would deform. For nicot I think they don't wax ( nicot has insert cells and cell cups as one piece).
It seems tempting when the price of chinese nicot is 10x cheaper than jenter kit...
Even it is my 5 working days.. I didn't doubt too much. As old say " I am not enough rich to buy cheap".. I still haven't regret.. It payed off already, I got some awesome queens with jenter..

I have a few different types of chinese copies, there are lots around, I did buy some brilliant ones with no difference to Nicot but a fraction of the price, I cant remember the seller as was in 2015

I have a mixture of original and Chinese eBay specials, there is a difference in the fit, especially in the curler cage to the cell holder, some are a very loose fit and slip off.

I have jenter kit, really happy with it but this year will try grafting. I seem to have lost some small parts and had to use wax to fill the holes where the missing plugs should of been. Replacing parts isn't cheap with jenter so will move on I think. Still works though as is.

Yes. It's the only version I've got so nothing to compare it to but it works fine. Big bag of plastic bits for a few quid.

It’s always nice to buy the best but in considering a much cheaper option, it’s apparent there is no drastic downside in importing such a piece of equipment.

Saying that I don’t intend buying just yet so still may “buy British!”
