Well after some little complications with location, i finally have the cast swarm at a decent location where i can leave it to do its own thing :D. I previously had it round a family members garden which was fine, there really friendly bees i was expecting a sting due to mistakes as a beginner considering as a couple of times i used no gloves.

2 Days ago i placed them on a piece of land i have permission to keep my bees on and i opened up the nuc and left them to it, as i believe she was yet not mated so i had to let her fly. Ive been feeding them on 1:1 sugar syrup as they were a small cast and i wanted to help them get started, when i palce them on land 2 days ago i had a quick look inside and they were clustered/space all over the middle section of frames which looked good, some brace comb on top of middle bar and lots of bees in and out the sugar syrup in rapid feeder.

Today i went up to see if the queen came back and didnt leave me beeless and theres bees going in and out not mass flying but still nice activity, at first i thought this could be just bees stealing the sugar syrup if my bees were not in there so i started thinking. I didnt want to open incase my bees were i there and she may of been mated as i want to give it a week before opening to give them a chance, so i sat there and waited, and wiated, and waited and eventually 3 little bees came back with some nice sized bright yellow sacks on there back legs :D :D :D. So this confirmed me my bees were in there as if bees were stealing the syrup they would not be taking pollen in there, so now i have to read up for certain signs i should look for on visits without looking into the nucleus that may confirm is shes mated or still flying.

Any ideas?

(Was just so excited to see pollen sacks on there back legs never seen any of the bees have them before)
