Hi all, been through my 'girls' today with my mentor and they are doing really well. My main colony have more than doubled in size with plenty of brood still and stores plus 5 frames of honey up in the super. I didnt think I'd have my own honey this year, but the weather has been so good over the last 3 week's, they've been super busy. So pleased. My nuc, which was a swarm a few months back, we transfered into a 6 frame poly nuc with a built in feeder for the winter, they also have plenty of stores & brood all looking health. The smell of the honey from the hive was awesome, so much better knowing it was from my own bees
All in all a very pleasing afternoons inspection

Well done ... there's little that's more exciting in beekeeping than the smell of your own honey ripening in the hive ... apart from opening the hive in Spring and finding that they have not only survived winter but that the queen is laying like mad - then you are off again. It's just such a fantastic hobby !!

Your itchy fingers can't wait to get into those hives in the Spring then when you're rushed off your feet you wish you could get a break :)
