Hi there - have recently moved up to the Tadcaster area and am looking for a local association. The YBKA site seems to be a work in progress so I'd be grateful for any advice or recomendations. Many thanks!

Barkston Ash, York or Leeds are your nearest associations, Harrogate & Ripon (who are not part of Yorkshire Beekeepers) are a bit further away. All have websites discoverable via a search engine.

<shameless plug>

Leeds have weekly meetings until mid September on Wednesday evenings from 18:30 and also on the first Saturday of the month from 10am to noon.

The apiary is on the east side of Leeds on the Temple Newsam estate a few mins from M1 junction 46. Lots of local beekeepers of all experience levels, with a well stocked shop, free tea, coffee, biscuits and cake, half a dozen colonies to go through, 200+ members across the area with 30 - 50 attending on a Wednesday. There are also monthly talks through the Winter by local and guest speakers.

It's maybe 20 mins from Tadcaster via A64 A1 M1.

For information, there have been EFB outbreaks near York, Harrogate and Selby this year and there were cases close to Wetherby last year. Leeds is EFB free and has been for a number of years.

Tadcaster is a good area for OSR
