I am a swarm collector.
I went to the new BBKA site.
I wanted to check that my details were correct.
I put my postcode in, as though I had a swarm. No result for me or swarm collectors in my area.

Is this the BBKA website help desk?

There is major discussion on the BBKA forum concerning this. Basicly they haven't got all the info from the county organisations yet... they are updating piecemeal it seems.

My local group's swarm collectors have now been updated on the BBKA site, so progress being made.

I had a chat with Claire from the BBKA about this last week, as above they are still waiting for some local BKA submissions, I wont hold my breath though as I was missed off last year and the year before.
to be honest I cant see much happening with swarms for at least another month!

I was told the same, the BBKA are waiting for the info from the district/counties and the map will be updated as they get the info.

Inform your local council and the police that you are available and thats all you need to do.

Possibly PH but I have never had a call via the council who I am registered with.
Nearly everyone under fifty and a lot over 50 would use Google which comes up with the BBKA swarm removal site top of the list (for 'I have a swarm').

The most calls I have had about collecting swarms have been from pest controllers.

When I was in Castle Donington I was registered with the police and council for the three neighbouring counties.

I had a good 20 calls+ each year so you see not everyone reached for the mouse some still use the phone.

If it don't work I don't post it. KISS

Poor redesign of the website, swarm collection is buried in the menu under services, should be prominently on the home page.

Totally agree. Not good BBKA.

Swarming is irrelevant for most of the year but, perhaps, they could add a quicklink on the main page during the swarming season to aid navigation.

I have emailed to ask this.
