Okay, so "Martha's" method of swarm control does it work, e.g. rather than me kill and take down sealed Queen Cells, can I "run the virgin queen" catch her, bung her in a box with a few bees, and frames, and create a new colony?

So what I'm asking, if I see more than a single sealed queen cell, tomorrow at inspection, can I generate a split from this? (prime swarm already gone!), just seems a shame to take down sealed queen cells. (if I can save queens!).

Continuity editor wants a ticking off, approached barton grange in blue suit opened hive and found QC's in a white suit....

Boasting about you colour TV???????????????,
We only have black and white because the dog is colour blind and the licence is cheaper!
Much prefer other thread running on this comedy series!

How would an inexperienced keeper of bees know if the baby queen was ready to creep?
Unless I had seen the cup open with larvae and then sealed, and have noted the times and dates, I would not be 100% certain?

The end cap turns dark prior to the queen emerging...

Which book is that from?
Have raised quite a few queen cells in an incubator, and have not noticed any significant change in the queen's cell colour tip.
But then that is in a somewhat artificial environment.
I therefore stand to be corrected.
I have noticed that a sort of shere line is made around the cell before creeping / emergence, but not that could be seen very easily on a frame, perhaps the queen was already half emerged, or by some TV trickery it was made to appear that the expert caused the new queen to be released, pure theatre!

I really enjoyed this program. Yes - to my wife's amusement I did spot lots of errors on her behalf…but then it's alway easy to spot other peoples mistakes isn't it? I understand that it riles people as there was a little mis-information but the photography was beautiful. I loved having bees looking fab on my telly. There aren't many other programs like this for me to watch. Please share if you have any others!
