Greg is spot on. Once oxalic dissociates (to formic acid, carbon oxides and water), thats the oxalic acid gone forever, so no effect on varroa. If the sublimator doesn’t get hot enough, there is no oxalic distributed around the hive and if it get’s too hot, some of the oxalic never gets there. Quite simple, really - the temperature needs to be around 170 Celsius max.
