interesting to see how those honey trapping grooves impart rigidity.

but didn't seem they were that accurate with setting the circumference before welding.
 
I thought it looked more like a reversible tangential system rather than radial? Arn't the springs there just to return the cages to radial position as the extractor slows to a stop?

That's what I thought. The one demonstrated at the end looks like what they call the 'cassette' model, 8 frames and list price around 2000 Euros depending on frame size and electronic package. I don't think my Christmas list would stretch that far though.;)

I think most companies miss a trick. There are always prospective purchasers who are interested in the technical bits and pieces. I'd be far more inclined to buy from someone who can show what actually goes into the product.
