Having Snelgrove'd my biggest colony last week, the other two had queen cells today! Suddenly feel short of kit having used up all my nucs!

Had to 'nuc' the queens from both hives, not my preferred option but I'm short on frames so it was the only option.

I cannot believe the growth of one hive. Came out of their nuc 2 weeks ago and have drawn ALL their frames and laid in most of them. Didn't give any sign of needing a super last week and now it feels too late. Absolutely incredible!!

What a stupid, stressful, expensive pastime. I bloody love it!

I have similar where somewhere in the last week or 2 my strongest colony went from 5 or 6 frames BIAS to 11/12. They are in double brood and have been cleaning the empty box from winter but still surprised me as 3 frames seem to have eggs or very young larvae suggesting 6 sides of laying in the last 4 days or so.

They need watching.
