What!!!!!

Hey Hivemaker that's cheating.:reddevil::laughing-smiley-004

Like every thing Bcrazy it has it's own risks.

I lost several virgins in the incubator until I realised they had to be fed.

Humidity is another issue to contend with.

Nothing is simple in reality.

Silly question time:

Do virgin queens feed themselves or do they have to have attendants ?

Yes they do but only if feed is provided.

I gave a stiff queen cage candy, but just a very small amount or else they get fouled in it. Another source of loss.

Yes the humidity is controled by water trays and venting. Virgins need food very soon after emerging,being as you know when they are going to emerge its best to be around and remove them from incubator soon after. I prefer to then cage them on a brood comb which contains the food they need.

I remove the virgins soon after emerging from there cells in the incubator,then place them on a comb which contains the food they need,
Squirt small ammount of water into some of the cells and place a push in mesh cage over the virgin on the comb,they are very soon feeding and don't get stuck up, place in a warm place until they used.
