There's a product which I think is called "silent roar" which consists of wood pellets impregnated with lion urine. Apparently very effective at keeping cats away.

Yes, unfortunately you need to 'spoil' the appearance of your beds and borders to prevent them being spoiled. We have a professional couple nearby who turf out their cats every morning as they leave for work and they generally head straight for my garden. After walking my dogs (on leads) this morning and being responsible by picking up and depositing their poo in the bins provided, I had the pleasure of sifting through the disturbed soil in my front garden to find the filthy present their pets had left behind.

It happens regularly here too. Even in a planter on legs. Raised beds have to caged in with chicken wire, which looks ugly and makes them difficult to work.
I’m doing away with them and giving up trying to grow stuff as it’s just not healthy.

Oddly enough there are folks up here that actually do take their cat out on a lead. Maybe a local thing or simply a few oddballs, who knows.

Don't introduce such people to keeping bees, please. The thought of them attaching threads to bees to avoid swarming, or splatting their bedsheets etc comes to mind!

Yeah, damn beekeepers allowing their bees to go out crapping on neighbours' cars and washing...

Chester Zoo used to (maybe still does) sell lions' poo for this purpose.

My girls would not do such a thing and if there is any such things happening on my patch it is fully the responsibility of the feral visitors :}​

so to stop finding cat turds in your garden - you just liberally sprinkle the area with a load of, err, giant cat turds.
