yuck.....

makes my swelling after stings pail into insignificance after that.

Sensationalist misreporting.

Figures are totals for 3 provinces, for 3 months. Not a "swarm".
Still not nice.
And its primarily the giant Vespa mandarinia. (Not velutina.)

Try the BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-24367050

More than 1,600 people have also been injured by stings in Shaanxi province, according to China News Agency.

It says 206 people are still being treated in hospital, with 37 patients remaining in a critical condition.

Sensationalised or not, those facts are pretty damn scary :sos:

How many people in China ? Its bound to annoy then when some half wit tries to torch them without a suit on. They surely have snided Ficam D unless it was a poor quality snide "as per"

Out of how many million people living in those provinces?

It will be bad enough if velutina arrives here.
I'm very glad indeed that mandarinia isn't around here, definitely something to be scared of, but not one of the really major health hazards in China.

Stings which leave bullet holes in your arm though?! WTF
