    Getting back on the bike..

14 stings! good grief - just one to the face and my eye closes up. As per other responses you need to feel bullet proof at the next inspection - extra layers and gauntlets. I use an old leather jacket under the bee suit when dealing with angry bees. If they really are a problem you need to deal...

You are never going to get anything supportive of the Govt from that source.

    Covid-19

From the point where there is a significance change in behaviour to reduce the infection rate e.g. lockdown, we are still stuck on the current trajectory for about 18 days.

    National Trust

Latest Info: Coronavirus update As of midnight 21 March, Director-General Hilary McGrady has announced: 'We have now sadly taken the decision to close all of our parks and gardens, in addition to our houses, shops and cafes, to avoid crowding that puts social distancing at risk. 'Despite our...

    Covid-19

Yes, but the assumptions are not unrealistic. Don’t panic, but be aware of what could happen if people ignore the guidance to slow the spread.

    Covid-19

More scary modelling - assuming: 1% mortality rate 20 days infection to death 5 days for infections to double Then working backwards, if 1 person dies today, then 1600 people will have been infected. Credit: Khan Academy

    Covid-19

For those interested in the computer modelling - there is a good video on YouTube using a simple equation to simulate the exponential spread of infection (if infection is allowed to spread unchecked) and how easily the numbers can reach overwhelming levels beyond the capacity of healthcare...

The honey will hopefully mask the vile taste of CBD.

Attn admins... please leave up as it's important.

This has happened to me twice recently. First time, around 10 transactions were made, all for around £100, all buying from the same place, before I spotted it. I was surprised the card company fraud detection software did not pick this up. Second time the fraudster failed to change the delivery...

    Traditional Honey Mead.

Indeed. Many years ago I made gallons of the stuff, trying different variations. The results were not good at all - it all ended up down the drain.

    Bees from hell

Lol - "a little more than normally defensive". Last year was my worst ever as a beekeeper due to "bees from hell". I found: a) They were extremely defensive to the point I used to dread my exhausting and painful visits to the apiary. b) Found them to be ever more angry as the season progressed...

    Smokers

A bit off topic, but your last sentence reminded me of Jim Al-Khalili's Youtube video describing the "double slit experiment": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9tKncAdlHQ The results are insane...and a bit disturbing as to what it might mean.

    Is it petrol time...

Your post above refers to obstinately "refusing to recognise their bees as a living organism, and so in their quest for outcomes of their personal design insist on bashing that square peg into the round hole. And often a hole 20% the size of the peg! You either tune in to your bees 0r go play...

    Is it petrol time...

Your opinion. This post seems to be at odds with your "advice" on another thread regarding inspections: "Fit a QR to the entrance and return to your 11-14day routine, they will not swarm simply because they cannot. Control the queen and you control the bees, keystone stuff" Tsk Tsk
