    Captured Swarm

Hi, I managed to get a swarm from a nearby tree on Monday evening 20.30ish I plan to transfer into a hive but the weather not good at the moment, how long can I keep them in a poly nuc 6 frame. There are no frames in just empty nuc as this was all I could lay my hands on.

Am I mad to think of a long hive?

I have started with a Hyde Long Hive and absolutely love it. It's based on the National format and my girls seem to love it, the only thing that came to light is the girls don't like going through the Queen excluder, so removed it and the girls manage the frames themselves, it my first season...

    Inspection Tray

Ho all, I have purchased a hand held microscope to look at what is exactly on the tray, it's amazing to say the least, from the obvious Varroa, to pollen to body parts, the one thing that I am unsure exactly what it is, is the purple bits, I have attached a few pics.

    Feeling very blessed

I was not expecting to harvest any Honey this year but my 2 hives have done so well, I removed 5 frames (national deeps) in total from the 2 hives and ended up with 19 x 12oz jars + a little bit more of golden honey😊

    Varroa Mite

I probably done around d 50 drone cells. I was thinking it would be very odd if I didn't have Varroa. So hopefully a couple of weeks and I will be ready to take some honey and then it looks like I need to get some treatment ready. Is Thymol in the strip form that you place on top of the frames?
