definately slugs,they were 2 1/2 inch long and slimey

I looked in the brood box today and the frame near the hive wall has gone mouldy on the outer face and there was two big slugs,can anyone explain why?,I have a wire mesh floor,and its the frame nearest the entrance.

I checked for a queen again,after I read 8-9 days in my notes but still can't find a queen,only the new one,I'm gonna have another look tommorow with my daughter.

if you lose a swarm then manage to recapture it,is it ok to relocate it next to its original location,or will the bees orientate back to the original hive?

I haven't quite mastered hefting so I put a screw into the side of the floor and hooked my carp weighing scales around it,when I lifted it one hive weighed 41lb and the other 37lb,both hives are nationals and have one super on which i left them on when I extracted my honey,when weighing this way...

I put the mouse guards on both hives,removed two empy brood frames and replaced them with a dummy board from hive 1,removed the empty apiguard trays and opened the floors.the bees were very busy(almost like summer activity).

I took the roof off the hive this evening and the light shining down the centre hole in the feeder enticed a few up,so I left it five minutes and when I looked again the top of the feeder was full of bees all feeding,so I put the roof back on and left them to it.

both my colonies had queens on the 30 sept but I haven't checked since then

The bees in both my hives haven't taken any sugar syrup down,the feeders have been on for 2 weeks,I have tried trickling syrup down the middle and putting honey down as well but they just took the honey and that was it,anyone got any other ideas?
