    Hi - Bee's nest found...

Bombus hypnorum. Later in the year the males will 'dance' in front of the nest waiting to pounce on unsuspecting females so they can look quite nerous & scary but mostly just go about their business for most of the summer. Relatively new to these shores but fast taking over sites from our...

Are these even Bees?? See embedded video

If it is osmia spp then they won't be there for long. Very unlikely to sting and safe to sit beside and watch. I envy you. My garden is so wet, all I have is slugs & snails! The young will emerge soon, males first then females. They will fly away to mate and your garden will be beeless once again.

    Hive in a mess

Qxs between all parts will allow you to find out where q is first. Then rearrange to have box with q on bottom. All else can them be emptied as brood hatches. Takes some time but less hassle than sitting and jiggering around with poor bees.

    Has the bubble burst?

At last, my sentiments exactly! Mine are in a box and I manage them as naturally as I can. I get so annoyed at people assuming how I treat my bees just because of the TYPE of box. Remember that icing sugar is as much as 'chemical' as oxalic acid is. I listen to all the arguments, both sides...
