    Oxalic Acid Vaporizer

Interested in this ... I did a speculative vape the other night (gasvape under the mesh floor thru the gap in the payne poly hive) ... and was wondering about the spacing ... but you think I should repeat the vape 4 times in 20days ... my feeling is doing it around now is helping winter bees...

    Moving hives 2 miles?

yes so laying queen and nuc is established - so it was just a simple question of how long to leave them at the temporary out apiary before returning back to my main apiary (1.5km from their current location) - is it 1 day , 1 week or 1 month ?

    Moving hives 2 miles?

I have a swarm that was left a few weeks in a nuc about 1.5km away - mid summer so I guess i have to go via an out apiary to return them to my main apiary (have just vaped them) how long do you have to leave them at a distance before they can be returned home ? Can you leave them a few days...

    Deterring wasps

Hi Karol/WaspBane users .... So have 4 hives and bought a couple of waspbanes ... i have seen the odd wasp about already in the rest of the garden but not where the hives are but wanted to check in on when is the best time to deploy them ( do I need to deploy both of them) ? Cheers Chris

Whats all this debris under the nuc ?

So caught a swarm the other week and moved them into a nuc 8 days ago for ease of transport and ease of vaping. Then vaped them 5 days ago. Picked them up after sunset last night and as I moved the paynes nuc there was a pile of debris under the box...

Swam has arrived, but they don't want to enter the hive...?

I have a bait hive on top of our local mosque that got a swarm yesterday https://photos.app.goo.gl/pDCm2ix2EmfR5wED9 Its made up of foundation less frames and a manky brood frame in a national hive (thanks to the apiarist for the guidance and the tip here to ensure the floor is in the box !)...

What to do when we suspect our colony is queenless

So checked the other day and the queen cells are now totally missing .so hoping this means queen has emerged and workers taken down the remnants of the queen cells ... I didnt spend long disturbing them ...and its too early to check for eggs etc ... just was thinking .. should I top this...

    Too early for swarm traps?

The apiarist in his blog suggested that they should be space 500m apart .... so interesting yours are so close and worked !

Do underfloor entrances really work to prevent wasp access?

last year was bad for wasps .. and i tried tunnels and trunking ... but the hives werent strong enough ... I think we had posts to confirm that you can do what you want with entrances but the wasps can get thru tunnels when the hive is depleted
