Warmimg crystallized honey at 35 degrees

I have stuck a few buckets in the back of my car. It was going to be sunny this week, so I was hoping that a few days parked at the railway station in the sun may get it back to liquid. Free heating and a wasp free environment, assuming that I remembered to close the windows!

Q- Hive, any prospect of introducing a bought in Q now?

Thanks. They are in a field but I have two hives there, so I will put a frame in from the other and see what happens.

Q- Hive, any prospect of introducing a bought in Q now?

About 3 wks They were reasonably calm to start with, but got agitated after a few minutes. Not overly aggressive, but they did follow me for about 10 metres There were 3 brood combs that have been welded together with brace comb running at an angle which I didn't remove, but pretty sure that...

Q- Hive, any prospect of introducing a bought in Q now?

Big hive but no brood or eggs. Trapped the queen above the QE and found it a few weeks ago. Removed the QE, but must have squashed the Q Looked this weekend and nothing ! Lots of bees and stores though.

    Wasps

I have a hive which had three full supers and a clearing board. I left the clearing board on for a couple of days after putting an acetate sheet above it to keep the bees out. Last night there was a wasp superhighway into one of the vents in the roof where the internal mesh had a bit of a gap...

Is it too late to split a hive

Thanks. I had meant a split for the bees to raise a queen. Buying in a queen is a good alternative.

Bees getting fractious in a poly nuc?

I opened up a couple of poly nucs on Saturday, gentle as lambs. Took out a couple of frames, no gloves or veil. Don't recommend going in without protection, but a quick peek! Same hive on Sunday was a boiling mass of anger...stung through the bee suit a few times, and several times on the...

    Combining colony

Success!! I opened the nuc this afternoon when I was home from work....the queen was still padding round with quite a few bees on the cage. I decided to leave them a while and went to the pub for supper.......on my return, I released the queen and she wandered off unmolested. Two frames one of...

    Combining colony

Many thanks. I was a bit worried because I didn't get any helpers in the cage with the queen. There were some cells with nectar so I don't think she'll starve for a couple of days. Better get the paper on the other hive.

    Combining colony

Had a cut-out colony which was doing well but ran out of food and half starved, but the queen was really nice and docile. I waited for the brood to hatch out and have taken the queen out and put her in a nuc with bees from three hives, shes in a push in cage and the nuc sealed up. The remaining...
