Hi Rory. The frame went back into the hive as I only seen the slumped larvae went I looked at it on the computer.

There are two cells near the centre of the frame that the larva is not in the right position. To you think that it is EFB. I shook all the bees hard off the frame so as to take a photo of open brood and might of dislodged them out of position. https://imageshack.com/i/c293fd5ej

when beekeepers say that they dont clip their queens, what i hear is that you are not capable of finding a queen and if you are and mark her only they you are incapale or too scared to clip her. Last year i picked up 3 early prime swarms with a queen in it that a beekeeper had very kindlty...

lots of frenzied bee activity around my bait hive last week , but had died off to only an odd bee now. the bee keeper most of done his swarm control in the nick of time.

I love beekeepers that don't clip their queens. I picked up a prime swarm two days ago that 3/4 filled a national brood box. I will move them to an out apiary and stick a few supers on them and requeen later on in the year if needs be
