Robbing during a Honey flow is not going to happen..if you see similar in your colonies during a flow start thinking a swarm is leaving the house.

I buy new Queens every year as the local mongrels are about as much use as a rock hard paint brush..don't get me wrong they are fairly calm but fail as far as honey gathering is concerned..the F2 Queens mated with mongrel drones still produce but only half the amount with added aggression.. So...

Checked fondant and all are bursting with bees but nowhere to go..this time last year the bees where pulling pollen in from the crocus..this year the crocus are there but no bees..the very weak hive in the garage is still alive for how long i do not know unless we get a break in this howling wind..

Like bees cold don't weaken them lambs but wet does..inside the lambs do very well.

You can't over heat the oxalic acid mix as it sublimates rather quickly when it reaches the right temperature...i have a Gas Vap and it is excellent.

All finished and ready for spring..as well as having the speed controller i rigged a three position switch up to give me forward stop and reverse and tidied all the wiring up..it works of a 12v leisure battery which i have two of and the wooden base that is on castors works a treat..if the video...

You have none of those problems with the framed wire excluders..:spy:

I do not see a problem with them Eric..i know they are not needed but the Abelo boxes come with them as standard and i do not mind wasting five seconds of my life pushing the poly inserts in tight and letting the bees do the rest..however what i have found in this beekeeping hobby nothing will...

I had a wired foundation frame last year that i used for egg donors to see if two colonies where Queen minus or not..rather than use the full frame in one hive i cut half of the frame of eggs out and put it in a empty frame with elastic bands ..a couple of weeks later the bees had almost drawn...

I have real fondant on my few hives..some are nibbling away at it and some are not.. From personal viewing and experience..if the little darlings have a bit of weight (hefting) helps..the fondant is left till a last resort..

I see little point in saving the Queen..Humanly dispatch and move on..

It is so simple to get to get your head around and i 100% can not see a problem with the boxes from Abelo..even my 2yr old niece can fit shapes into holes.. Push in tight and they will not come back out..feck messing on with glue of any kind.
