After 20 years of beekeeping, my wife and I are selling up. We have retired and plan to travel, and will not be able to care for the bees as they need. We have 3 colonies, overwintered with 2021 British hybrid queens, inspected and queen right on 25th March, in cedar nationals. Sold with mesh...

    Correx nuc transport boxes?

I have 7 spare unused correx nucs, mesh panels at the side, made up and ready to use. Part of 20 yrs of accumulated kit which my wife and I are currently assessing and looking to sell. Queen found above excluder

I have a few points to add to this thread, the first and most important being that you should DEFINITELY not put the queen in the brood box with the QE between her and the supers with brood. Also check for pollen colour, should be a dark grey for Beans. You'll be able to see this just by watching the bees come in. Honey tends to have a bit more caramel flavour than Lime.

    Nucs for sale, Leices/Warks border

I'm afraid both nucs have now been claimed, but we expect to have more as soon as our colonies are big enough and will be posting again when this happens.

    Nucs for sale, Leices/Warks border

During the very brief warm spell last week, we managed to do an inspection on our 6 hives and found that they have all come through the winter strongly with lots of stores. This was obviously good news, but to be honest, we really only want to start the season with 4. Hence, we have 2 spare. We...
