Too early for a shook swarm?

Wow, i feel really sorry for the poor bees under the supposed care of these people, asking a small colonies to draw out all those frames at this time of year is just not going to work, they should be in a Nuc box with that small amount of bees, i fear they are doomed, very sad, i watched the...

    Keld Brandstrup

Why the big secret Hivemaker ? i would have thought adopting a position of cooperation and sharing would be better if we want to have some sort of organised Queen breeding in the UK.

    pricing

we sell ours for £140 plus £10 delivery and installation within 10 miles, these are 6 frame nuc`s with our own grafted 2017 queens on National or Langstroth frames, we had a limited number of over wintered Nuc`s but decided to keep theses, so i think £200 is a bit on the expensive side.

    Bee Farmers apprenticeship scheme

Yes it could be done, i did exactly that 30 plus years ago when i worked in a different industry, but that was a very different world then, i think those days are long gone, you could buy a house for 40k then, self employed could get loans by self assessment !! by your reckoning they would have...

    Bee Farmers apprenticeship scheme

Just for the records i am totally behind apprenticeships in the country, one of my concerns was for the future of these apprentices when they have qualified what do they do then, i see in a post that a mere 50k would set them up ! i would ask where does that come form, i am not sure a bank would...

    Bee Farmers apprenticeship scheme

I would suggest there are far more possibility's in farming for those leaving agricultural collage in this country than in bee farming as there are far more farms which have a wide range of positions available, no one would suggest someone leaving collage would go straight out and buy a farm...

    Bee Farmers apprenticeship scheme

I will start be applauding the BFA for setting up this apprenticeship scheme in the first place, but i feel it is flawed in two aspects, 1. this scheme will only really benefit existing medium to large scale bee farming businesses that want to employ a family member or two, something they might...
