Yep - penny's dropped now read about them last year but I just couldn't find the information in that junk shop I call a memory!

Yes - after all the struggle to get a decent photo through the honey jar, I went back out after posting this and released it - It sat neatly on the patio table for a good two minutes before flying off!

Yes wood wasp had one fly round my shed today a few times before settling for a rest then off again. Its been a while since I have seen one lovely insects, I think it may have been attracted to my log pile.
