I had combined 3 frames of bees in a nuc (from a chimney I'm trapping out) with the colony below. That was 3 weeks ago, all seemed fine, last week put on apiguard treatment, looked today and this is what greeted me? There were plenty more clusters of bees in the grass below.

There is still a regular flow of pollen going in the hive but why they hanging around outside?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

So I'll take it out tomorrow then[emoji51].

Doubt they'll last the night but don't want to lose anymore!

They'll go back in after dark don't worry too much about it. Pulling the inspection tray out a few inches can help as well

Well, I went today and they are all still there, really lethargic, going back to remove treatment later.

give us a lowdown of your setup.
Hive size in totql (how many boxes etc)
Type of floor
Entrance setup
How much apiguard have you put in.
are other bees flying normally
Any other strange behaviour
Anything else you think may give us a clue.

Found out what it was! (I think)

A massive slug must have been in the hive when I closed the entrance to single entry, it was blocking the entrance when I opened it all up.

Guess they couldn't get back in and got too cold....
