Can anybody recommend what extractor to buy?? I want a manual, at the lower end of the price range ;)

I got a 8 frame with drill from agri nova realy pleased with it about £400 pound i think it was

How many colony's have you got?

I've used a manual for three colony's last year, this year a bought an electric model from agri nova as i've now got 6 with supers on.

Best to borrow your local BKA's extractor perhaps to start with.

:iagree:

Not a bad plan for the first year anyway, then see how you are going. Spinners can be the single most expensive piece of kit a beginner invests in.

If you really want your own, and borrowing the associations spinner can get a bit frantic around OSR harvest time, you could get a Th**nes Bees on a Budget extractor - works perfectly well for one or two hives, and can be upgraded when you are ready

Agri Nova with drill. Well pleased. Much better than the Th****es manual I borrowed last year. Then there was also very little price difference

Got 9 frame S/S radial from Beechwood Bees for 380.00 quid delivered. Good gearing and a freewheel so when you stop turning the handle stays still. Delighted with it. Seen same one elsewhere for 495.00.
