Tree Bees are alive and well. This is a fuzzy still from a thermal camera video of the entrance. Later in the day lots were out flying. 6 degrees but very very sunny with some warmth in it.

Out of interest what thermal camera did you use?

You can get ones to attach to a phone and I’m tempted but am not sure of the quality of the end result (and if the picture would be as clear as the one in your avatar).

It’s a FLIR
Takes good video and stills through the OMF. At least you can tell if the bees are still alive and where they are
Expensive for a toy

No. Are polythene polycarbonate interchangeable?
My crowns are clear so I can usually see the bees though not always if they are low down

Polycarbonate is IR opaque polyethylene is IR transparent. The cool thing is that you have bees in the dark under black polythene but you can still photograph them
