Collected a swarm last Friday 16th May in a 7 frame swarm box, I have moved them this morning 20th, about 6 miles away onto a friend’s farm.
It was quite a large swarm and I want to transfer it ASAP to a National BB.

How soon can I transfer them from the SB to the National BB, I don’t want to stress them out too much as they will be busy re orientating themselves now, but as I say I doo need to swap them over.

Thanks

As soon as they quieten down (and start bringing in forage, preferably). Presuably this is a simple transfer of fraes from one box to the other on the same position. They should hardly notice it.

Would one day matter? If so, do it sooner.

Yes all bees are on BB deep frames, weather permitting, could I do it today 20th 4pm-ish ?

Thanks

can be done whenever - so long as you keep the new box on same site as the old one you're ok. they are reorientating to a box they call home at position X+/-3ft no more.

Yes I will be putting the new box on the same stand as where I have put the SB.

Being new'ish to beekeeping I was just worried that with what looked like a large swarm, if I were to leave it too long they may run out of space and decide to make QC ?

Thank you ALL

personally i'd've just manned up and done it as soon as they'd had a few minutes unleashed on new site. KISS. no need for an extra visit.

even better would've just been to tip from swarm box to new hive on day on collection, or maybe next morning.
