sounds odd but i inspected a colony today and found myself hoping not to see eggs
reason = i had a laying worker colony next to a double bb colony which had developed swarm cells (this year's q too!)
so i removed q for AS on the strong colony and left it to raise a q
then, i shook out the laying worker colony whcih was 5-6 seams of bees
when i saw them all return to where their hive had been and start drifting towards the re-queening colony i feared the laying worker(s) may be allowed in and i may not see them re queen
this would have been a mess and disaster
fortunately (and with some advice from PH, thanks) today...NO EGGS in the requeening colony and some nice fat q cells
phew
