What do people do with friends who want to see and experience beekeeping. I only have a beesuit for me and the wife and I'm not 'average ' size being a smaller person.

I have 3 bee suits plus a coulple of teenage/child suits just incase.
Your local association might have spare suits that you can borrow, although it may take a bit of advance planning with your friends

I think that may be the way forward. Be organised and borrow some from the association.

As long as they are just going to stand and watch and not get too 'involved' then the cheapo chinese smocks are just fine - make sure your friends and visitors have stout trousers and tuck them into their boots and a pair of gloves of some sort - most under sink cupboards have a spare pair of marigolds if they haven't got anything suitable of their own.

OK the cheapy suits are not up to regular inspections but for onlookers they are fine and for about £5 is it worth messing about trying to borrow some .. I've got four (I think) in various sizes but as they are just pull-over garments the bigger ones tend to be one size will do all ..

And gently remind them there is a risk of being stung and that can have consequences which are at their own risk.

I take them to my hives.Unprotected. As long as they stand behind the hive they are safe. Clear crown boards so no need to open up.
